Estimates are not legally binding. We will provide you with an estimate free of charge based either on information you provide to us or by doing a free on-site estimate. The final cost of your move will be based on the actual time your move takes to complete (this is billed in quarter hour increments) and any additional products you may have purchased from us the day of the move.
Our Crews are required to leave their shoes on at all stages of a move for their safety. Every precaution (within reason) will be taken to ensure that your floors are kept clean and safe throughout the move. Each truck is equipped with neoprene floor runners that may be used on hardwood floors and carpeting in high traffic areas, these will be offered free of charge. Additional carpet and hardwood floor protection options are available for purchase prior to and at the time of the move. If you are particularly concerned with this policy, we do recommend purchasing floor protection in advance from either our Pack Shop or a local home improvement store.
Estimates are calculated assuming that items will be diassembled and reassembled prior to our arrival. We do offer disassembly and reassembly as part of our services, but please be sure to notify us of any items that will require this service so that it may be added to the estimate. It is our policy to reassemble any furniture that we have disassembled, however for liability reasons we cannot disassemble cribs.
While we do our best to be aware of truck restrictions throughout our service area, it is your responsibility to notify us of any specific restrictions that may be applicable to a route we are required to use for your move. All bridges, tunnels, etc. must have a minimum clearance of 13’6” and we will not be able to use roads with weight restrictions that forbid vehicles greater than 6 tons per axel or GVW of 26,000 lbs. If these routes are unavoidable when accessing your load or unload location, please let us know in advance so that we can make other arrangements.
After your movers have finished loading the truck of all items to be moved, you will be asked to do a walk through of the move from location to ensure that all of the items to be moved have been loaded on to the truck. If you, or an agent acting on your behalf is not available to do a walk-through we will ask that you sign a Walk-Through Waiver that releases us from liability for any items that are left behind for whatever reason.
Payments received later than one (1) month after the date of the move will be considered late and a $25 fee will be added to the total balance. For each additional week, the total balance will be subject to a 2% fine until it has been paid in full.
After you receive your estimate you will be given the option to book or to hold your date for up to two business days. Once you confirm your booking, we will ask that you provide us with a credit card to put on file.
All moves are subject to a two hour minimum ($220) charge regardless of actual time taken. After the two hour minimum the move time is billed in quarter hour increments.
Rather than using travel charges or mileage fees, our moves are charged portal to portal. This means that your billable hours will begin when the truck leaves the shop and they end once the truck arrives back at the shop. Based on the location you are moving from and moving to, we select the portal point that results in the least amount of drive time.
We will recommend the crew size that is most cost effective after preparing your estimate, this will be determined based on number of items to be moved and several variables relating to the move from/move to locations. Some larger/heavier items or specialty items may require a three mover crew for safety reasons, we reserve the right to send the number of movers that we feel are necessary for both the safety of our Crew and timely completion of the job.
We accept cashiers check, cash, and major debit and credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Discover & Amex).
Although our Movers will be as careful as possible, from time to time damages may occur. If damage is caused by our service, The Move Crew reserves the right to repair the damage(s) in question. If we determine that a damage cannot be repaired, we reserve the right to either replace or compensate (Actual Cash Value) for the damage. If there is a damage, notify your Crew immediately. They will complete a Damage Report before they leave your site. If you discover a damage after the move, call the office within 96 hours of your move. No damage claims will be honored until the charges for moving services have been paid in full. For damages caused while loading or unloading your truck or storage unit, The Move Crew is only responsible for items in our immediate care, custody and control. If there is any reason to believe that the contents of a box may not have been packed securely, we reserve the right to open that box to ensure it is packed properly, and repack it if necessary. If you decline, we may be unable to move that box.
Tipping your movers is never required, though any amount is greatly appreciated. Should you choose to leave a tip you may add it to the bill at the end of the move and have it charged to your card, or you may tip your movers with cash.
We reserves the right to decline a move either in part or in its entirety if we feel that conditions are unsafe or excessively unclean.
